A far away sea is an ongoing series of automatic ink drawings on photographic paper stemming from a series of random text and image drawings created in 2001.
In A far away sea, delicately sculpted gestures, marks and plains endeavour to connect to primitive and visceral memories and dreams connected to a meaningful place and time.
Vaguely intimating a narrative with no defined reference to space, the bleeding, glazed, crystalline quality and treatment of the surface and image suggest organic alien figurative-like shapes from distant unknown places.
